Story shared: Wonderful guy and ham radio friend

I first met Grant as his amateur radio course instructor about 25 yers ago when I was teaching our ham radio hobby licensing at the Kingston airport . Grant would travel 3 nights a week in his mobility van from Athens to study with the class. He excelled in everyway with the program. The course examiner was quite firm , but Grant did very well and earned his license with honours. After completing his course with me he dedicated a great deal of time putting a lot of energy back into our hobby for about 25 years. He dedicated thousands of hours keeping the radio nets going. I was very fortunate to have been able to connect again with Grant in person several years ago at a radio function in Kingston. I managed to take his picture at that time and will always keep that photo as a fond memory. Through radio I often hooked up as well with him across the province to where I retired. I was always quite proud to have known Grant. He was a first rater and contributed so much to many things during his life. His example as a very decent human being is one many others could learn from. He was a very kind soul.

Wayne it is with deepest sympathy of the lose of your Brother Grant. Grant was the best. He enjoy playing Pool, Shuffleboard, Euchre, and always ready to help any one that needed it. Remember that the great memories that you both shared over the years you will always have, know one can take them from you and the family .May you fined the help of friends, and family ,to help you in this very sad time.
